What kind of leaders do you work with?
We've had the privilege of being trusted by leaders across industries and hierarchies - Senior Executives who are seeking to navigate complexity beyond boardrooms to leaders whose decisions impact the professional and personal lives of thousands of employees in their organisations; to high-potential leaders who have transitioned or are transitioning into bigger roles at a fast pace. We work with individuals who are curious, committed and invested in their growth. Titles matter less than your willingness to pause, reflect, and lead with intention.
What’s your coaching style like?
I offer you my deeply empathetic, unfiltered, judgement-free listening with always your interests at heart. Picture a conversation that’s equal parts mirror, compass, and nudge. I bring authentic curiosity, practical tools, and reflective inquiry — with a dash of humour when needed. My role is to hold a thoughtful space where insight and action can meet. No jargon. No preaching. Just real conversations that lead to real shifts.
Is your approach fixed for everyone?
No cookie cutters here. Every leader’s journey is unique — like fingerprints on the compass. Our work is customised to your context, goals, and leadership style. We bring the tools, frameworks, and reflective space; you bring your aspirations. Together, we chart the path.
What’s the difference between Executive Coaching and Leadership Coaching?
Executive Coaching is like working at the altitude of strategy and influence — helping senior leaders navigate complexity, lead with presence, and align their inner compass with organizational direction.
Leadership Coaching is more like helping leaders step into their stride — bridging the gap between managing tasks and inspiring people. It’s about developing presence, emotional intelligence, and adaptive leadership for mid to senior leaders on the rise.
Different altitudes, same compass.
What kinds of shifts do clients typically experience through coaching?
It varies, but some common outcomes include:
• Moving from firefighting to foresight — shifting out of crisis mode into thoughtful leadership.
• Balancing strategy and execution more elegantly.
• Building executive presence — influencing without over-explaining.
• Gaining clarity on personal leadership identity.
• Delegating with confidence (instead of guilt!).
• Reclaiming space for reflection, not just reaction.
Do you offer advice during coaching?
Coaching isn’t about handing over answers on a silver platter. It’s more like handing over a compass and helping you learn how to use it. That said, when relevant, I draw on my corporate experience to offer perspectives — but always in service of your thinking, not replacing it.
How long does a coaching engagement usually last?
Think of it less as a sprint, more as a purposeful trek. Most engagements are six to eight conversations spaced over five to nine months depending on scope. Conversations are usually 60 mins long with a gap of between 2 and 3 weeks between them. Some leaders also choose to have quick calls between conversations to bounce of an idea or just use me as their sounding boards. You decide the pace and direction.
What kinds of real challenges do leaders bring to coaching?
Here are a few anonymised but real coaching situations:
• A senior leader who believed “my work should speak for itself” — until they realised influence also requires visibility and storytelling.
• A mid-level manager doing “basic work” and feeling replaceable — who eventually learned to position their expertise and attract more meaningful work.
• A leader constantly firefighting and never finding time to think — who learned to reclaim space for strategic reflection.
• A talented professional stuck between compliance vs agility, learning to expand their circle of influence.
• A leader transitioning into a bigger role, struggling with executive presence — who built clarity and confidence to lead at a new altitude.
Each of these wasn’t solved with advice. They were unlocked through reflection, insight, and experimentation — one conversation at a time.
Do you also work with teams on these kinds of challenges?
Absolutely. Many of these individual challenges mirror team dynamics: lack of alignment, unspoken conflicts, over-dependence on a single leader, or teams stuck in “execute” mode with no shared vision. Through Team Coaching, we help teams pause, reflect, realign, and operate as cohesive, adaptive units rather than a collection of silos.
What role do assessments play in leadership journeys?
Assessments act like high-quality mirrors. Tools like Harrison Assessments, WorkPlace Big Five, Positive Psychology frameworks, and The 7 Habits reveal behavioural preferences, strengths, and blind spots. This clarity helps craft targeted, meaningful development journeys, rather than generic training plans.
Do you mentor aspiring coaches too?
Yes. For those on their ACC or PCC journeys (especially through the Portfolio Path), I offer structured, reflective mentoring. Think of it as walking alongside you on the trail — helping you deepen ICF competencies, refine your coaching presence, and build confidence for credentialing or renewal.
Can I have a conversation before deciding?
Of course. I always insist on having a Chemistry-cum-Discovery call before every engagement. It is crucial for us to know each other - you need to be convinced that I am someone you'd like to work with; and I have to be convinced that I can truly add value to you and your situation. Think of it as a test drive — or better yet, a shared map-reading session. You bring your challenges; I’ll bring my listening ears and some occasional questions. We’ll explore if working together feels right. No pressure, no hard sell — just clarity, for you and me!
What’s the first step to working with The Yogi Compass?
Simple. Book a Discovery Call. We’ll talk, reflect, and explore your goals. Whether it leads to coaching or not, you’ll walk away with greater clarity. After all, every journey begins with orienting your compass.
